About Georgia Cost Estimating
About Us: Atlanta-Based Construction Estimators Serving All of Georgia
Georgia Cost Estimating is a construction cost estimating and quantity takeoff firm headquartered at 106 Mangum St SW in downtown Atlanta. We help contractors, subcontractors, developers, architects, lenders and homeowners understand what a Georgia project will really cost — before they bid, borrow or build.
Who We Are — In One Paragraph
Georgia Cost Estimating is an independent estimating company, not a contractor. We do not build, so our only product is an accurate, unbiased number. Our team prepares detailed cost estimates, quantity takeoffs, bid estimates, value engineering studies, change order pricing and lender budget reviews for residential, commercial and industrial projects throughout Georgia, using CSI MasterFormat structure, professional digital takeoff software and current Georgia labor and material pricing.
Our Story
Why We Started a Georgia-Focused Estimating Firm
Georgia builds at a pace few states can match. Metro Atlanta keeps adding homes, apartments, offices and medical space; Savannah’s port has pulled in millions of square feet of warehouses; and new manufacturing and data center campuses are rising along the state’s interstate corridors. That growth creates opportunity — and a lot of pressure to price work quickly and correctly.
Generic national estimating services often miss what makes Georgia different: the labor premium in the Atlanta metro, wind-rated envelopes on the coast, rock and red clay in the Piedmont, and the state’s own amendments to the building codes. We built Georgia Cost Estimating to close that gap — a firm whose estimators live and work in the same market as our clients and price Georgia projects every day.
Today we support clients from Construction Estimating Services in Atlanta, GA and Construction Estimating Services in Savannah, GA to Construction Estimating Services in Augusta, GA, Construction Estimating Services in Macon, GA and Construction Estimating Services in Columbus, GA.

Our Methodology
How We Build an Estimate You Can Rely On
Our process is documented step by step on Our Estimating Process and our data sources are described in Cost Data & Accuracy Methodology.
CSI MasterFormat Structure
Every estimate is organized by MasterFormat division so it maps cleanly to bid forms, schedules of values and lender budgets.
AACE Estimate Classes
We label every estimate with its AACE class (1–5) and expected accuracy range, so you know exactly how much to rely on it.
Georgia Location Pricing
Unit rates are adjusted for the project's county and market using supplier quotes, local labor rates and cost databases.
Scope-Gap Checks
We cross-check drawings against specs and addenda to catch missing scope — the most common cause of losing money on a bid.
Two-Estimator QA
A second, senior estimator reviews quantities, pricing and math before any estimate leaves our office.
Documented Assumptions
Inclusions, exclusions, allowances and assumptions are written out in plain language on every estimate.

Why Georgia Experience Matters
Local Knowledge That Changes the Number
Two identical buildings can have very different costs in Alpharetta and Valdosta. We account for:
- Atlanta-metro labor premiums and trade availability
- Coastal wind and flood-zone requirements around Savannah
- Rock, slope and clay soils in North and Middle Georgia
- Georgia State Minimum Standard Codes and local amendments
- County impact fees, permits and inspection practices
- Hurricane-season and summer-heat schedule impacts
